Question: Shaykh may Allah grant you success, some people disapprove of praying without a Imaama (turban) on, is there any proof Shaykh for such disapproval and is wearing Imaam Sunna or not?
Answer: Regarding your question then my answer is, the Imaama is the custom of the Arabs which Islaam allows. As for it being said it is the Sunna, then we don’t say it is, rather just Arab custom.
But if a person wears the Imaama with the sole intention of following the Prophet, because at times he wear one, then in that case a person will be rewarded for following the Prophet.
As for praying without a Imaama on, then a person’s pray is accepted, and we not condemn anyone who prays without Imaam on, because the general principle is, one is not allowed to disapprove of a action unless confirmed by Quraan and Sunna.
What we advice is to wear a Imaam in prayer and out of prayer, we also say if a person leaves his house without any thing on his head we did not condemn nor dispraise him, in short if someone prays without a Imaam his prayer it not considered invalid and Allah grants success.
