Shaykh Ubady Al Jabeeri explains in the talk below that books authored by innovators fall it 3 categories
1. A book which has pure bidah in it and only a scholar can look into these books in order to refute
2. A book which contains a mixture of sunnah and bidah therefore only scholar can only read these books as they can distinguish between the truth and falsehood in that book and warn from the falsehood.
3, A book which is upon the sunnah with no bidah in it and no mistakes, the scholars hold these books are sound to be read by everyone however they also hold that it is better to stick to books of ahlus sunnah which are upon the sunnah.
He clarifies that if a book is translated by a innovator but the author is a scholar (or a student of knowledge) (THIS SECTION IN BETWEEN THE BRACKETS IS NOT IN TALK BUT VERY MUCH IMPLIED IN TALK -that if the common folk who can find a scholar who can understand the language of translation present to him the translation and he will check the book and give a verdict on the book (i.e. wether the book can be read by the common folk or not and whether the book has bidah in it or not) you follow his fatwa on the book),
if the common folk can find no scholar (due to the country they live in or someone other reason) but their are some brothers who are students of knowledge (i.e. they have study with scholars or other more advanced students of knowledge for sometime (i.e. 5 years for instance)) who live in their country and understand the language of the book then these brothers can collectively check the book and if all these the brothers agree the book is free from bidah and mistakes then the common folk of that country can benefit form that book inshallah.
