Is It Permissible For A Salafi Student Of Knowledge To Givie Lessons In Mosques Upon Bidah? – Shaykh Abdul Hameed Al-Hajooree

Shaykh Abdul Hameed Al-Hajooree said, “There is nothing wrong with that (giving a talk in a non-Salafi mosque if they allow you to talk in their mosque with no conditions upon you) inshallah and as for proclaiming words of truth then the da’ee needs to look to what is most important to begin with.

The Prophet said (to the companion Muadh Bin Jabal), “You are going to a nation from the people of the scripture, so let the first thing to which you call them to, be the tawhid of Allah. If they learn that, tell them that Allah has enjoined on them, five prayers to be offered in one day and one night.

And if they pray, tell them that Allah has enjoined on them zakat of their wealth and it is to be taken from the rich among them and given to the poor among them.

And if they agree to that, then take from them zakat but avoid the best wealth of the people and beware of the duaa of the oppressed one.”

Yes the fact you speaking the truth is something good however it is appropriate upon the caller to Allah to learn how does he proclaim the truth, how does he call to the truth, which matter of truth has precedence and which matter of truth can sometimes be concealed.

Imam Bukhari has mentioned in his saheeh the chapter ‘Knowledge being concealed’ or ‘the one who specifies a certain group of people with knowledge’.

So what is important is that the person is in need of learning the etiquettes of calling to Allah.

Similar is the case of the person who wishes to become a doctor he will learn about medicine or if he wants to be an engineer he will learn about the field of engineering, so if he wishes to be become a caller to Allah then let him learn the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of the messenger while calling to Allah upon one’s capability…

I mean (there is no problem to give dawah in) the mosques in which there is no harm upon the (Salafi) dawah, if you ask them to allow you to go ahead (and give a lecture there and they let you do so.)

The reason (this is permissible) is that the prophet (Mohammed) use to present himself to the (disbelieving) tribes and in the market (which was full of kuffar) teaching the religion of Allah.” Ref:

Also Shaykh Abdul Hameed Al-Hajooree said on this issue in a different statement, “The mosques of the general folks are to be given dawah and gentleness is to be shown to them, so perhaps they may benefit and become guided.

The mosques of the people of hizbiyyah while there are mosques of Ahlu Sunnah available are to be stayed away from and tamyuz (i.e. being distinct) should be established.

If there are no mosques of Ahlu Sunnah available while a person is capable to spread (the call of) tawheed and the sunnah without any conditions or restrictions therein then he should go ahead with (it), perhaps Allah may bring benefit by it.

The general folks amongst the people of the sunnah and the people of bidah are to be shown patience and they are to be taught the religion and the sunnah, whereas the du’aat of Ahlu Bidah are to be boycotted and the callers of Ahlu Sunnah are to be respected and to be cooperated with” Ref:
