A Beginner Student Of knowledge Declaring Another Person An Innovator – Shaykh Falaah Ismaaeel

Shaykh Falaah Ismaaeel said, “In the name of Allah, and the praise belongs to Allah, and may prayers and peace be upon the messenger of Allah, his family and companions and whoever follows his guidance, as for that which follows.

No [it is not permissible for a beginner student of knowledge to declare someone to be an innovator even if his innovation is apparent to him, after the proof has already been established against him], as long as he is a beginner student of knowledge, if he wants to advise this innovator [he can].

As far as the laymen is concerned then they are to stay away from him (the innovator and not approach him with an advice).

It is upon him (the student of knowledge) to get the ruling for the innovation this person is upon from the senior scholars. He is to take his affair to the one who is more knowledgeable than him, and [in this way] it is more anticipated that he [the innovator] will except his statement about him.

Moreover this is more beneficial for his situation [being only a student of knowledge], and by being patient and consulting the individual who is more knowledgeable and older than him is the legislative cultivation for his soul, by not praising it, and not rushing int0 rulings and putting it (his rulings) forward.

May Allah give everyone success with what He loves and is pleased with.”
